Terms of Use

These terms govern access to Naugatuck Residents Directory, a privately operated reference to Connecticut public-record offices, courts, libraries, archives, and directory collections. Using the service means you accept these terms. Do not use it if you do not agree.

1. What This Reference Is

Naugatuck Residents Directory describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, map and parcel tools, court inquiries, vital-record routes, and historical collections for Naugatuck, Connecticut. It holds no government roll, court file, deed book, or certified vital record, and it is not connected to Naugatuck, New Haven County, Connecticut, any court, library, or records custodian.

2. Lawful Use Rules

Use the pages and linked resources only for lawful purposes. You may not use the service or information found through it to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, impersonation, or another offense
  • Make a decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including credit, employment, housing, insurance, or tenant screening
  • Scrape, copy, sell, or republish the material at scale
  • Interfere with the service, its security, or its operation

3. No Consumer Reports

The service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Neither the text here nor a result from a linked search tool is a consumer report. Nothing may be used to judge eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, tenant screening, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

4. Outside Links And Tools

Linked government portals, libraries, archives, courts, USPS, and sponsored search services maintain their own terms and policies. The operator does not control their content, prices, availability, search results, or data practices. A link is provided as a reference route, not as an endorsement or guarantee.

5. No Warranties

The service is supplied “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that a page, link, record description, coverage date, fee, or outside portal is accurate, complete, current, secure, or available at all times. Public records and agency systems change.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages connected with use of the service or a linked resource, including a decision made from a record found through it.

7. Your Responsibility

You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from a claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that arises from your unlawful use of the service, misuse of a public record, or breach of these terms.

8. Original Material

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright and other applicable rights. Brief quotations with attribution and ordinary page linking are allowed. Full-page republication, systematic copying, and automated extraction are not authorized.

9. Changes To Terms

These terms may be revised by posting a new version on this page. Continued use after the revised text is posted means that you accept the updated terms.

10. Restricting Access

The operators may block or limit access for a user who violates these terms, abuses the service, attacks its security, or uses the pages for prohibited conduct. This may occur without advance notice.

11. Connecticut Law

These terms are governed by Connecticut law, without applying conflict-of-law principles. The Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, Chapter 14, General Statutes §§1-200 through 1-259, governs public-agency access questions and exemptions. The Connecticut Data Privacy Act governs covered consumer-data rights and is separate from a custodian’s public-record rules.

12. Severability

If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed only to the extent required, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page. Questions about a deed, assessment, voter result, vital copy, court file, or directory holding must go to the public custodian identified for that record.
