Data You Submit
Information entered into a name, phone, or address form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the sponsored results. The operator of Naugatuck Residents Directory does not keep a personal copy of those search entries on the site’s own records. If you contact the operator, the message and any details you include are used to respond and handle the request.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting systems may record ordinary technical logs such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, referrer, and timestamps. These records help maintain security, diagnose failures, and understand aggregate page use. Cookies, analytics, or advertising measurement may be used where the applicable service requires them.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate the reference, answer messages, keep pages available, review broad traffic patterns, and address technical problems. The operator does not build a personal dossier from readers’ searches and does not sell a visitor list.
External Record Sources
Links lead to Naugatuck municipal offices, Connecticut agencies, Waterbury court inquiry, libraries, archives, USPS, and other third-party services. Each outside provider controls its own privacy policy, terms, availability, fees, and data handling. The sponsored search tools are supplied by a third party, so information entered there is governed by that provider’s practices.
Who May Process Data
Hosting and technical vendors may process server logs. Analytics or advertising vendors may receive the limited automatic data described above. Information may be disclosed when a valid legal process requires it, or when necessary to protect the service, its users, or another person. It is not disclosed for unrelated purposes.
Security And Retention
The site uses an encrypted connection where supported. Technical logs are kept only for the operational, security, or measurement purpose that requires them. There are no user accounts or stored profiles on Naugatuck Residents Directory, so no site password database exists for a reader to manage.
Children And Minors
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The operator does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, a message through the Contact page can request review and deletion of information held in the contact channel.
Connecticut Data Rights
The Connecticut Data Privacy Act was signed May 10, 2022 and took effect July 1, 2023. The Attorney General’s guidance describes access, correction, deletion, and opt-out rights for covered personal data, including opt-outs related to sale or targeted advertising; universal opt-out signals began January 1, 2025. The Attorney General enforces the law, with the guidance describing penalties up to $5,000 per violation under CUTPA and no private right of action.
A request about data held by this reference can be sent through the Contact page. Because the service keeps little direct reader information, the response may concern a contact message or technical log. Public records held by Naugatuck, New Haven County-related agencies, Connecticut, a court, or a library are outside the operator’s control. Removal or correction requests for those records belong with the custodian.
Privacy rights under the Connecticut Data Privacy Act do not erase public-record statutes. The record-specific access rule, including the Connecticut FOI Act and its exemptions, must be considered separately.
Policy Changes
An updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date or revised wording when needed. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
